Chatham-Kent YMCA
The Region of Chatham-Kent indentifies the new YMCA as a key facility in attracting new families to this area, as well as contributing to building and sustaining the physical and social health of the region. Hailed as “the best Y in Canada” by Jim Loyer; Chair of the YMCA Board of Directors, the Y benefits both the local economy, as well as the quality of life of the families who live there.
Components include a six-lane pool, leisure pool, gymnasium, walking track, aerobics room, youth fitness room and community rooms. To accommodate the busy life styles of the community, this new YMCA will provide space for structured programs as well as ample opportunity for members to drop in on a casual basis to shoot some hoops or have a quick dip in the pool on a hot summer day. Contemporary in expression, this facility also embraces current thinking in sustainable and green building design initiatives.
