Established in 1973, Vanderwesten & Rutherford (V&R) is licensed to provide mechanical and electrical consulting engineering and design services in Ontario, Nunavut, British Columbia, Manitoba and Nova Scotia. We are proud to be a second generation, employee owned firm.
With offices both in London and Ottawa, V&R has the capacity and skills to undertake a variety of projects with the efficiency of process to quickly react to project demands. As an employee owned firm, all of V&R’s staff are committed to exceeding the expectations of our clients and ensuring that they are left with a building that is not only simple to maintain but sustainable and cost effective to operate. Our company's resources include a senior management team that employs a hands-on approach to all projects and is committed to providing sufficient resources. With over 10 PEO licensed Engineers on our team, and the extensive availability of back-up personnel, there is always someone to work on your project. We have plumbing specialists, AHU replacement specialists, HVAC specialists, Energy Modelers, contract administrators and REVIT/AutoCAD specialists in house, along with a team of experienced mechanical and electrical engineers and designers. V&R is a Professional Engineering firm which has earned the respect of numerous organizations over the course of our history. We are qualified in an array of engineering projects; from design concepts, new design, review of other firm’s designs, construction documents, contract administration, building condition assessments, feasibility studies, technical investigations and maintenance projects. |

Peter Van Der Westen & William (Bill) Rutherford, P.Eng., F.E.C. (d. 2013)
As the Co-founders and Directors at V&R since 1973, Peter and William continually strived for excellence for our firm. Together they formed the foundation of our project experience, client relations and leadership. Their philosophy formed the cornerstone of V&R's foundation as it is today.
