Wheatley Area Public School
Wheatley Area Public School is one of many schools that are located within the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. The Lambton Kent District School Board (LKDSB) retained ROA Studio as the Architectural firm and Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. as the mechanical and electrical engineering firm for 3 phased renovations of the public school.

Phase 3 Daycare Addition:
This project consisted of a renovation to the existing pre-school classroom as well as the corridor outside of the room and the washroom within the classroom. The upgrades and revisions included the following:
Phase 1 Renovations:
- Upgraded electrical service and domestic water service
- New LED lighting
- New piping distribution for domestic and hot water heating
- New RTUs
- HVAC systems & distribution
Phase 2 Renovations:
- New LED lighting
- New fire alarm system
- New piping distribution for domestic and hot water heating
- HVAC controls
Phase 3 Daycare Addition:
This project consisted of a renovation to the existing pre-school classroom as well as the corridor outside of the room and the washroom within the classroom. The upgrades and revisions included the following:
- Plumbing design for the new toilets in the washroom
- HVAC revisions to suit the new layout
- 30 new outlets among the classroom, corridor, and washroom
- New receptacles
- LED lighting in the classroom, washroom, and corridor
- Emergency lighting & exit signage
- New controls
