Western University, Arthur & Sonia Labatt Health Sciences Building
The Arthur & Sonia Labatt Health Sciences Building consists of approximately 90,000 SF, comprised of a 500 seat auditorium, three 150 seat auditoriums and six 50 seat classrooms.
In addition to the classrooms and auditoriums there is also wet and dry laboratories, faculty offices, a simulated hospital ward and 3-D images of the human body in the Virtual Reality Lab. Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. provided mechanical and electrical design services for the new build including services for the 5KV feeder electrical network for the building and the connecting area.
Challenges and Accomplishments:
The challenges on this project included providing new 5KV feeder to new building while keeping all existing feeders at capacity. Our accomplishments included providing new 5KV radial feeder with provision for several new buildings on the old stadium grounds.
