Wellington County Museum Addition & Renovation
Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. was a member of the team that built the 7,500 sq. ft. expansions on the Museum and Archive building for the County of Wellington. The addition consisted of a storage vault, records processing, microfilm and reading rooms and 9 computer workstation to search the Archives. Additions also included new washrooms, renovation of Aboyne Hall and hallway and installation of an elevator. The old archive building will be used as additional museum storage, a conservation lab and an exhibit preparation space.
The impressive hilltop site and stately 19th century architecture reflects the importance of the Museum and Archives as an established feature in the cultural and historical mosaic of the community.
