Queensway Carleton Hospital Acute Care For Elderly
To provide comprehensive care for seniors and help them remain independent, V&R designed mechanical and electrical systems for this new unit at the Queensway Carleton Hospital. The new inpatient unit will accommodate 34 beds and associated support space. It will be a centralized place within the hospital dedicated to treating seniors.
The unit’s design is to focus on elderly patients with many different health conditions, complex social issues and declining functional abilities;Help patients remain mobile by providing support to maintain their independence and return home; Includes a communal dining and activity room.
Particular attention was placed on the fixture and equipment selections in relation to the specific needs of the patients, and latest energy efficient technologies.
