Oakville Glen Abbey Library Renovation
Glen Abbey Library serves the west of Oakville. The library area is 14, 984 sq. ft. and it is the second biggest public library in Oakville. The library is particularly well used by families with young children, students, older adults and seniors, and newcomers, and is recognized for its excellent programs, services, and ability to serve as a “third place” for those needing respite from home and school/work pressures.
This project was for the renovation of Glen Abbey Library to introduce creative zones, which are areas dedicated to creativity, innovation, and learning life skills through hands-on experiences After the renovation, the library will include spaces where people who share common interests can meet, socialize and collaborate. The library will be equipped with the latest technology equipment and programs.
V&R provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for this project. These services included the optimization of library spaces, improvements to the library washrooms, extending the library outdoor space, temperature control and air circulation, security cameras, and increasing outlets and electrical fixtures.
