LaSalle Fire Service & EMS Building
The Town of LaSalle set out to relocate their existing municipal buildings to new and renovated buildings in the Vollmer Complex Lands in 2011.
The Fire Department/EMS Building has eight, 2-storey vehicle storage bays, offices, living/sleeping areas, workout rooms, showers, meeting rooms, and a storage/workshop bay. The EMS area allows for three ambulance vehicles, report area, kitchen/living facilities, and lockers/washrooms. The total area of these buildings is 21,140 SF.
V&R were retained to provide mechanical and electrical design services for this project, in collaboration with JP Thomson Architects Ltd. We provided the following services: analysis of scope of work; concept design; design development; maintenance projects; construction documents; tendering services; construction services; construction contract administration; and post-construction and project close-out services.
Main features include:
-8 bay operations centre to handle maintenance of 16 vehicles
-Maintenance, cleaning and equipment parts and storage supply area
-Complete renovation of the existing one-storey building's office space with mezzanine of approximately 19,000 SF
-New addition of 2,000 SF to accomodate the EMS personnel
-Generator backup of complete electrical service
-Fluorescent T8, T5HO and LED pot lighting
-Fire alarm system and emergency communication system
