In 2010, the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) launched an Energy Efficient School Program (EES) with Vanderwesten & Rutherford Associates Inc. as the lead mechanical and electrical engineers.
Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board's Energy Efficient School Program involved a total of 10 schools, including:
The Program involved the replacement of boilers, pumps and exhaust fans with more energy efficient models. The existing systems were not meeting heating requirements.
