Dark Horse Winery
The Dark Horse Estate Winery, owned by the Rasenburg Family is located in South Huron County behind the Huron County Playhouse. The facility sits on 20 acres of land, of which 15 acres will be vineyard and 5 acres will house the building.
The facility is a total of 21,000 SF, which includes various rooms such as Retail Wine outlet, Wine Production Space, Cellar Room, VIP Lounge, Large Banquet Hall, Lab and Process area, Large Atrium and Front Lobby. The building also has a 5,000 sq. ft. Event Centre which will hold 250-300 people, commercial kitchen, a large VIP room, a tasting bar and a cellar with a private tasting room. A grand arched stone entrance welcomes guests into the winery complimented by the rich and earthy material palette highlighted throughout the building. Reclaimed timber columns, rustic masonry, exposed wood, polished concrete floors and ground to ceiling glass harmonize the rural backdrop with the building’s timeless décor.
The building services include LED lighting throughout the entire facility, Heat Pump System for heating and cooling with future integration on a Geo Thermal system, Humidity control, Dedicated outdoor Air System, and In-floor heating.
