Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario
The hospital has 165 beds and supports a full complement of Pediatric and Surgical sub-specialties, including Neurosurgery and Cardiac Surgery. The hospital has an affiliated research institute (CHEO-RI) which supports both basic and clinical research activities throughout the institution.
Over 115,000 examinations per year are performed in the Diagnostic Imaging Department. Residents in Diagnostic Imaging and Pediatrics rotate through the Department.
The Department has 11 pediatric radiologists on staff providing imaging services in all areas of pediatric imaging. The Department has a very active emergency and clinical service with state-of-the-art imaging equipment. There are two 1.5 Tesla MR Scanners, a 64-slice CT scanner, two state-of-the-art digital fluoroscopy rooms, digital Radiography, and six ultrasound units with Doppler and color flow imaging. There are two nuclear medicine cameras with multi-planar SPECT capability and bone mineral densitometry. The department is fully digital with an upgraded RIS driven integrated PACS and VR system.
Our scope of work included electrical design for all new lighting, power and systems serving the following spaces: 12 bed paediatric recovery,16 bed day care surgery, 2 treatment/procedure rooms, consultations rooms, on-call rooms, locker rooms, waiting room and offices.
