Carpenters' Union Training Centre, London
The 25,000-square-foot steel and wood frame building has offices, classrooms, a training centre, a fitness area and several feature wood elements highlighting the quality craftsmanship of the Carpenters’ union members.
It has dedicated areas for all three union-incorporated trades, carpentry, drywall and flooring as well as workshop areas. The atrium is two storeys with a stair- case and a glass curtain wall right at the front. There is also a green roof, with a vegetative area and a light reflecting membrane expanse.
Mechanical Design:
- HVAC complete with reheat coil system
- Boiler – hot water heating system
- Heating and ventilation for the training centre
- Wood shop – dust collector system
- Welding gas piping system
- Compressed air piping system
- Fire protection sprinkler system
Electrical Design:
- Interior lighting and roadway lighting
- Power distribution complete with emergency power shut-off system in wood shop
- Security and access control system
- Fire Alarm System
