V&R provided complete mechanical and electrical design (including HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical work) for the new 5 storey, 41 unit, 1-bedroom, affordable housing project in East London designed by Nicholson Sheffield Architects.
The goal of this project was to redevelop a vacant, underutilized parcel of land for a desired public use (affordable housing) in a manner that is consistent with the surrounding built form. This development contributes to the planned function of the area and provides a visually attractive building.
These apartments feature high ceilings to bring in light to the spaces, most ceilings have a height of three metres. All apartments feature a juliette balcony or outdoor space to facilitate an indoor/outdoor experience. The building also features laundry rooms and a bicycle storage area that has space to hold 32 bicycles to encourage or accommodate a healthy and environmentally friendly lifestyle.
