The firm which has full offices in London, and Ottawa is currently looking for a Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng.) for the Ottawa office to join the growing team.

Position Title: Mechanical Engineer
Position Hours: Full Time- 37.5 hours/week
Position Location: Ottawa, Ontario
Working within multi discipline project teams, the ideal candidate will be an energetic team player that possesses a minimum of 5 years Canadian experience managing project teams in the mechanical design of institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities.
Your responsibilities will include all aspects of design and analyses including system selection, life cycle cost calculations, and implementation of systems.

Qualifications:
- Licensed professional engineer (EIT, P.Eng.)
- University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a College Diploma such as Mechanical Engineering Technology
- Experience working with engineering in simple to complex mechanical buildings including utilization of design programs (AutoCAD, REVIT)
- The ability to work independently on complex institutional, industrial, municipal, healthcare and commercial engineering projects
- The ability to carry out routine construction assignments, site surveys and field work
- The ability to liaise with clients, contractors and local authorities
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Initiative and pro-active approach towards projects, with the ability to multi-task under stress of deadlines
- Desire to work in person, in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities
- To develop an understanding of building codes, design concepts and V&R standards
- Design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection components relevant to building projects of various sizes and complexities
- Design and prepare mechanical reports, contract documents, drawings and specifications for all aspects of mechanical systems for institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities
- Design and calculation aspects of specialty mechanical system
- Mentoring and training of staff
- Supervise intermediate and junior engineers, designers and cad operators
- Conduct site reviews and attend project meetings with clients as required
- Coordinate mechanical design with electrical drawings and services
- Project Management and problem solving with internal design team and external stakeholders
Assets
- EIT or P.Eng. Certification
- LEED Accredited
- AutoCAD and/or REVIT experience
