Mechanical Designer

Position Title:               Mechanical Designer
Position Hours:            Full Time- 37.5 hours/week
Position Location:       Separate Positions:  London, Ontario & Ottawa, Ontario

 
Working within multi discipline project teams, the ideal candidate will be an energetic team player that possesses experience in the mechanical design of institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities.
 
In this role, you will be working with a number of our project teams to design the plumbing and fire protection systems for various building facilities and assisting with the preparation of drawings and other construction documents utilizing AutoCAD/Revit as needed.
 
Qualifications
  • Possess experience in Designing Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems for a Variety of Building Facilities
  • Familiar with the Design and Calculation Aspects of Plumbing and Drainage Systems and Fire Protection and Sprinkler Systems including Storm, Sanitary, and Domestic Water Systems
  • Familiar with the Design and Calculation Aspects of Specialty Systems including Pumping Systems, Medical Gas and Compressed Air Systems
  • Completion of a Mechanical Engineering Technology/Technician college program or university degree in Mechanical Engineering, B.Sc.(Eng)
  • Familiar with Relevant Codes and Standards
  • Proficient with utilizing AutoCAD/REVIT
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Ability to Work Effectively in a Team Environment
Responsibilities
  • Design of plumbing and fire protection systems for various building facilities
  • Assist with preparation of drawings and other construction documents utilizing AutoCAD/REVIT
  • Progress to leading Plumbing and Fire Protection Team
