Electrical Engineer: Ottawa Location

Position Title:              Electrical Engineer
Position Hours:              Full Time- 37.5 hours/week
Position Location:          Ottawa, Ontario

Working within multi discipline project teams, the ideal candidate will be an energetic team player that possesses Canadian experience managing project teams in the electrical design of institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities.

​Your responsibilities will include all aspects of design and analyses including electrical system selection, 
assist with engineering analysis, evaluations, designs and implementation for electrical systems.
Qualifications
  • Licensed professional engineer (EIT, P.Eng.)
  • Experience working with engineering in simple to complex electrical buildings including utilization of design programs (AutoCAD, REVIT)
  • The ability to work independently on complex institutional, industrial, municipal, healthcare and commercial engineering projects
  • The ability to carry out routine construction assignments, site surveys and field work
  • The ability to liaise with clients, contractors and local authorities
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Initiative and pro-active approach towards projects, with the ability to multi-task under stress of deadlines
  • Desire to work in person, in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities
  • To develop an understanding of building codes, design concepts and V&R standards
  • Design and prepare electrical reports, contract documents, drawings and specifications for all aspects of electrical systems for institutional, healthcare, municipal, commercial and industrial facilities
  • Design and calculation aspects of specialty electrical system
  • Mentoring and training of staff
  • Supervise intermediate and junior engineers, designers and cad operators
  • Conduct site reviews and attend project meetings with clients as required
  • Coordinate electrical design with mechanical drawings and services
  • Project Management and problem solving with internal design team and external stakeholders 
Assets
  • LEED Accredited, Passive House/ PassivHaus Certification
  • AutoCAD and/or REVIT experience​
